Creature Animation Reel

A compilation of creature gameplay animations built on believable weight, personality, and movement.

Project Overview

This reel showcases my creature gameplay animations, focusing on the application of core animation principles to convey believable weight, personality, and movement for non-humanoid characters. Locomotion sets, attack cycles, hit reactions, and death animations are all represented.

Technical Details

All animations are keyframe-animated, created in Maya, and implemented in Unreal Engine. Motion reference was gathered and studied for each creature archetype to ensure anatomically believable results.

Role & Focus

- Sole Animator on all creature shots.

- Responsible for locomotion design, attack timing, and hit/death reactions.

- Implemented animations in Unreal Engine using state machines and blend trees.

Objective

To demonstrate my ability to animate non-humanoid characters with convincing weight, personality, and responsive game-ready movement — core competencies for any game animation role.
